If I could sum up Denise in one word, it would be magical. She was a godsend for me and my family, helping us at all levels — me, my husband, the two of us as a couple, the two of us as parents, and our son. Like I said, magic!!
At 11 months old, my son was diagnosed with a Global Developmental Delay. I hated that phrase because it didn’t give us any insight into what to do next. I was at a total loss of how to help my son, and was desperately searching for any resources I could find. It was just two months into the COVID-19 pandemic, and I was in a grief spiral, feeling depressed, isolated, and traumatized.
Denise’s website was one of the only results I found scouring the internet that even mentioned the phrase “developmental delay.” After attending her free parent support group and a consultation call, my husband and I both knew we wanted to work with her.
Denise helped us in a myriad of ways. Through zoom-based coaching, she was able to give us in-the-moment parenting advice custom tailored to our specific situation. She gave us so many tools to help with our son’s development, making us feel more confident and more connected. She also worked directly with my husband and I, as WE needed support too! We had lost all aspects of self-care, and weren’t even finding the time to shower. My husband was at his wits end as a full-time stay-at-home dad, and I was buried under tons of guilt as a working mom.
Denise tossed us a lifeline. She gave my husband the tools he needed to feel empowered and able to do everything a full-time stay-at-home-parent needs to do — support our son, stay on top of housework, and most importantly, make time for himself. She helped me shed the depression, isolation, and grief I had, and now I feel like a totally different person! I am more myself than I have been in years: an empowered mama who loves playing with her son and is so proud of herself and her family.
Denise is simply the best resource, best cheerleader, best Therapist, best Life, Parent & Family Coach who knows how to lift you out of the muck when you need to be taken out. We couldn’t recommend anyone more highly than her. We love you Denise!
